EnviroControl Systems completed an 18-month, multi-phase, 2-building rehab. Project included demo and installation of HVAC mechanical systems to two pre-existing buildings. EnviroControl Systems’ team embraced the challenge of converting an aging boiler system to modern heating/cooling. Project challenges included restrictive ceiling heights, drilling through existing concrete/block walls/ceilings, working in shafts and attic space, maintaining the architectural integrity of a 116-year old building. Through 18-month renovation, EnviroControl Systems’ team managed continuous design revisions. EnviroControl Systems provided and installed three DOAS (Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems) units, Young’s regulator dampers, multiple split systems with refrigerant and condensate lines, electric and gas unit heaters, air devices, four VAVs, exhaust fans, covers for exposed piping and wiring, insulated ductwork, and controls. During the install, over 2 miles of soft copper was run in the two buildings. This was the perfect job for our first- and second-year apprentices to learn about the VRFs systems that were installed.
